ccoptions2 is the Java Imp lementation of the Global Commons Institute's Contraction and Convergence model. As well as providing enhanced functionality over the original, crafted with Excel, it aims to provide an intuitively simple but powerful interface so as aid underst anding of the GCI model.

Developers

For developers wishing to contribute to the project we urge you to contact Tim Helwig Larsen at gci (.or g.uk) who is the project co-ordinator at GCI. Daniel White administrates the sourcef orge account and currently maintains the code base. Tony Cooper is the main point of contact for questions about the mathematical model behind Contraction and Convergence.

Please see documentation for information on the design specifications.

The Sourceforge project page is here.

Getting hold of ccoptions2

Currently no stable builds have been released however you are welcome to browse our CVS server at sourcef orge and experiment. We hope to have the majority of functionality built into a sta ble build by the end of September so please refer to this page then.

Design Notes

This document describes the first installment of the design notes for developers.

Tony Cooper's Notes on the model

Here Tony Cooper provide s detailed explanations of the GCI Contraction and Convergence Model.

Peter's Notes on the dataset and model

A brief set of notes of what I started on the rear end of the program.

Formulas for Tony's revised model Part 1 (concentration) Part 2 (temperature)

Excel documents showing the revised calculations that deduce concentrations and temperature from an emissions profile, based on a Hadley paper from last November.

UML Diagrams UML representation of the Data Model currently in the CVS repository The UML model of the project

UML diagrams for how the Java implementation of ccoptions will be structured.
